Welcome to FEATS 2008!

9-12 May, Stockholm Sweden

The Stockholm Players is proud and excited to welcome all FEATS enthusiasts to Stockholm in May 2008.

Often referred to as the capital of Scandinavia, Stockholm offers everything one might want for a weekend break – beautiful islands, a bustling nightlife, shopping for all tastes, easy access to nature, and of course a rich dramatic arts scene. And May is the perfect month to visit.

Since this is the first time that the Festival of European Anglophone Theatrical Societies is coming so far north, why not take the opportunity to extend your stay and experience all that this beautiful city of islands has to offer? To find out more about Stockholm, visit the Stockholm Tourist Board’s Web site.

The Stockholm Players’ history

with FEATS

The Stockholm Players have been participating, and winning awards, in FEATS for at least twenty years. Over the years we have won (amongst others) Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Production, Best Stage Presentation, Best Stage Management and Best Original Script. So even though 2008 is the first time that the festival comes to Stockholm, we are far from novices at the event.

FEATS 2008 Location

Dieselverkstaden

The Stockholm Players is proud to host FEATS 2008 at...

Dieselverkstaden
Marcusplatsen 17
Sickla

...a cultural center located just outside central Stockholm. It houses not only a state-of-the-art theatre, but also a county museum, a historical archive, a media library, art exhibition hall, and even an indoor climbing wall.

Dieselverkstaden is easily accessable by Stockholm Public Transport. Trains leave the hub station Slussen every twenty minutes while multiple bus lines eastward approximatley every five. The journey by either method amounts to five to ten minutes.

FEATS Team

The FEATS organisation consists of over two dozen active English-speaking theatre groups based in continental Europe (www.feats.org). Every year, 12 of these groups take part in a festival over a long, spring weekend. The Stockholm Players have the pleasure of hosting FEATS in Stockholm, Sweden this spring 2008.

We have seven sub-committees within the FEATS 2008 organisational team:
Administrative Team Leader: Tom Howland (tom.howland@stockholmplayers.se)
Administrative Project Leader: Kate Kabala (kate.kabala@stockholmplayers.se)
Stage Management Team Leader: Dave Meur (dave.meur@stockholmplayers.se)
Marketing Team Leader: Lisa Cockette (lisa.cockette@stockholmplayers.se)
